This park has been closed for the past four years. The parks department said it was due to asbestos removal. However, the park is now covered so you can't see the park and there is a rumor that they will be condos going up. But that is not verified.

Most of the ball fields are closed while they are remediated to remove the toxic chemicals that were left there. Unfortunately, Red Hook doesn't seem to be high on the list of priorities for New York City. I don't think they will be usable until 2021 or 2022 at the earliest, and that may be optimistic! But besides the fact that most of them are closed it is still a beautiful field / Park

Love Red Hook Ball Fields. They are famous for everyone playing soccer and baseball. Nice place to have a picnic. The food vendors are what put them on the map. I love some watermelon agua fresca, the tacos, and corn. Don't forget the pupusas!
